M+P Labs Organizes Tech Park Green Day
All it takes is a few willing hands and the heart to make something good happen. At M+P Labs, an employee-driven green effort has now grown to encompass the entire business community of Schenectady, NY.
On May 13th 2011, the first Tech Corporate Park Green Day will enable all Schenectady businesses to dispose safely of industrial and hazardous wastes and to recycle electronics and parts.
According to Frank Anderson, president of M+P Labs, his company’s Eco-Team put this program together to aid in its own safe waste disposal efforts. “Our Eco-team has been very diligent in identifying ways to recycle consumables and to be cost-effective in other disposal requirements. This effort grew out of those efforts to make sure that our materials testing lab is green.”
Companies wanting to dispose of industrial or hazardous waste must provide an inventory to the disposal company Care Environmental, by April 25th. They can do so by contacting Jim McKenna 866-449-2273, jim@carenv.com. Care will provide a quotation and an approximate pickup time for the May 13th date. Care will provide door-to-door service and do all packing on-site at your location. At pickup time, participants must have MSDS sheets on all their materials, and must have materials properly labeled and stored in a safe and accessible location.
Electronics Recycling Available. Colt Recycling will be on-hand at the Cyclics Parking lot at 2135 Technology Drive from 9 am to 2pm on May 13th. Companies can bring computers and computer parts, laptops, cell phones, PDAs, computer monitors and CRTs, VCRs, DVDs, CD players, radios, hand-held games, stereos, speakers and appliances. Colt will NOT accept televisions, bulbs, CFLs, or batteries on that day. There will be a $10 charge for appliances containing refrigerant.
